Max’s Weekly Tails 🐾 from Moorclose Community Centre
"Hello everyone, it’s Max here – your friendly chocolate cocker spaniel and Moorclose Community Centre’s resident storyteller! 🐶 Grab a cuppa, settle in, and let’s catch up on all the crack!"
What's Happened This Week
Oh my dogness… have you SEEN my winter coat?!
It is officially in full flow. I am currently fluffy, furry and cuddly like a little bear cub. Everyone keeps telling me how handsome I look and, well… I’m not arguing.
If you see a small, chocolate cloud trotting around the Centre — that’s me.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on our very special Sycamore Sapling. I’m so happy to see new buds starting to pop out! 🌱 I’m really hoping we get proper leaves this year.
And before anyone asks… I have NOT peed on it. I promise. Cross paws...... however I may have watered the fence!

Very handsome boy!
Max
On a more serious note, I was very upset to see that someone has vandalised the new tables in the Sports Hall viewing area. That made my ears droop a bit. The staff here work so very hard to make things nice for everyone, and it’s sad when that effort isn’t respected. Please help us look after the Centre — it belongs to all of us.
Also… someone borrowed one of our green wheelie bins and promised to return it the following week.......
We haven’t seen it since.
If it’s feeling lonely wherever it is, please send it home. We miss it.

What’s Coming Up Next Week
Ohhhhh it’s going to be a BUSY one! 🐾
I am very excited to see all my human friends at the upcoming HAF project next week. I’m hoping there will be lots of culinary creations… and I am more than happy to assist with taste-testing duties. Strictly professional, of course.
Later in the week the Centre is going to be REALLY busy because we have
Cumberland Dance Events holding their festival in the theatre and King of the Octagon happening in the Sports Hall
Very exciting!
Although... I will not be entering the ring. I am a cocker spaniel… not a boxer dog. 🥊🐶

Things I has been noticing (Important Woofs)
I’ve noticed the nights are getting lighter — which makes my evening walks much nicer!
But please, please take care when driving around the Centre. We have lots of children and vulnerable adults attending clubs and events, and their safety matters more than anything.
And while we’re on the subject… could everyone please read and follow the car park signs? Some people are still parking in very silly places. You might not realise how dangerous it could be — especially near access points and busy areas.
Let’s keep everyone safe.
Happy Tails 💛
The BEST news this week?
My Mam, Dad and all my Your Choice friends are back safely from their holiday! I missed them so, so much. My tail has honestly been tired from wagging so hard when I saw them all again.
I’m very glad they had a lovely time… but I’m even gladder they’re home.

You can't park there sir!
Join me again next week and I'll try to dig up some really juicy bones... I mean gossip for you!
.... Unless you like bones as much as me?
Max & His Hooman Brother

A note from Max's mam...

See you next week for more stories, updates, and crack from Moorclose!
🐾 WOOF! I'M BACK! 🐾
Hello, my lovely humans!
I'M BACK!! 🐶
Yes... I know... it's been a little while. I hope you've all missed me because I've certainly missed telling you all about my adventures!
Guess what? My Mam and Dad went away again (honestly, they do like their holidays!), so it was down to me, my lovely Gran and all the amazing staff to run the Community Centre while they were away. I was Head of Security, Chief Cheese Tester, Official Meet and Greet Officer and Professional Tail Wagger... all at the same time. It's a hard life being me!
Now, you know what they say... "When the cat's away..."
Well... OH MY WOOFY GOODNESS ME... did things happen!!
First, we had a very naughty man break in and try to steal things and generally be extremely naughty. But guess what? Our super clever CCTV cameras spotted him... and so did the police!
WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!
A huge waggy thank you to the lovely police lady who helped catch him. Good humans definitely deserve extra tail wags.
But then...
You won't believe what happened the very next week!
OH MY WOOFING GOODNESS!!!
Someone actually drove their car straight off the car park, crashed into our conference room wall, bounced off it, somehow managed to drive back up onto the car park again... and then the car gave up completely!
Even my tail stopped wagging for a minute... and believe me, that's almost unheard of!
Now for some exciting news...
I'm going to be a Mini Ogre! WOOF!!
This weekend we're all heading to Party in the Park at Vulcan's Park with all our wonderful Your Choice gang, our Youth Club Ogres and, of course... Elizabeth, our pet dragon! I can't wait. I wonder if dragons like dog biscuits?
And then there was the football...
COME ON ENGLAND!! ⚽🐾
We all watched the match together at the pub, but it all got a bit too exciting, so we made a run for home to watch the end there.
TWO GOALS!!
My poor tail nearly wagged itself clean off!
And a little sad woof to Scotland as they head home. They gave it their best shot, and getting there was something to be proud of.
Before I go...
I've got some more exciting news...
I've got myself a brand-new friend called Harry, and he's going to be helping me write my blog from now on.
So watch out everyone...
MAX IS WOOFING BACK!!
Until next time...
Lots of licks, sniffs, cuddles and enormous woofs,
🐾 Max xx
